Groundwater Dynamics

Technical tools address specific classes of technical questions, making calculations,and documenting support for professional judgment.

The techniques currently under development at Peter Mock Groundwater Consulting, Inc. are typically embodied in individual software programs or packages of software programs. One example of ongoing R&D work at PMGC include the development of a unified well test simulation code that can include the types of processes and combinations of processes seen in Dr. Mock's consulting assignments, but which are missing from the available commercial software codes. Another example is the incorporation of general monod biodegradation processes into a robust existing multiphase flow code for the simulation of bioventing and other  remedial actions on large-scale fuel releases.

In many cases, research is being conducted by others that will address the needs of today.  Dr. Mock tracks the progress of other R&D efforts in order to effectively advise clients on the potential for new technical tools.
Training is also a part of expanding the use of software applications and Peter Mock Groundwater Consulting, Inc. has presented short courses and provided on-project coaching to client staff in the use of packages such as MODFLOW.
